How can I have my item(s) restored?

  1. Email us. Send us an email with pictures and a short description of the damage to your item(s) directly to theastlefordstudio@gmail.com.

  2. We’ll email you an Estimate Cost and a Service Agreement. We’ll respond with any questions we have regarding the make, history, and/or condition of your item(s). When we have all of the information we need, we’ll give you an estimate. The estimated cost will only fluctuate from the final cost if the picture or description does not accurately reflect the severity of damage or if undisclosed damage is discovered.

  3. Sign the Service Agreement and send us your item(s). The Service Agreement details the damaged areas and lists the estimated cost. You choose the delivery carrier and level of service; however, we recommend you purchase delivery confirmation and insurance to ensure your item(s) reach us safely.

  4. We’ll clean your item(s) and inspect for undisclosed damage. After receiving your item(s), we will closely inspect the item(s) for any undisclosed or undiscovered damage. If there is additional damage present, you can elect to have it restored by signing a new Service Agreement. If there is no additional damage detected, the estimated cost becomes a fixed estimate. We will not perform (or charge you) for any work outside of the damage listed on the Service Agreement without your permission.

  5. We’ll restore your item(s) and email you pictures of the restored area(s) for your approval. After restoring your item(s), we will email you detailed pictures of the restored areas to ensure the work meets your expectations.

  6. We’ll send you an invoice via Paypal. After you approve of the work, we will send you an invoice through Paypal that will cover the cost of the restoration work and the shipping cost to return the item to you. We will give you the dimensions and weight of the package(s) and you can select the shipping service that meets your budget and your needs; however, we recommend you purchase delivery confirmation and insurance to ensure your item is returned to you safely. There is no handling surcharge with your item(s).

  7. We’ll return the restored item(s) to you. After you pay the invoice, your item(s) will be carefully packaged and sent back to you.

The fine print:
1.) You are responsible for all costs associated with shipping your item(s) to and from The Astleford Restoration Studio. We recommend you purchase delivery confirmation and insurance to ensure your item(s) reach the Astleford Restoration Studio safely.
2.)
The initial estimated cost only covers the damage listed within the initial service agreement. If additional or undisclosed damage is discovered by The Astleford Restoration Studio, you will need to sign a new service agreement in order to have the newly discovered damage repaired.
3.) You must accept the fact that although an invisible repair is always the goal, a completely undetectable repair is not always possible due to nature of the work. You must realize there may be some subtle differences in regards to my item’s color, texture, and glaze finish when comparing it to an original, undamaged piece.
4.) Although great care will be given to your item(s) by The Astleford Restoration Studio, accidental damage (outside of the course of restoration) may occur while it is in our care. If this is the case, The Astleford Restoration Studio will restore all accidental damage for no charge and will reduce the cost of restoring your original damage by 50%.
5.) You may cancel the service agreement at any time by contacting the The Astleford Restoration Studio by phone or email; however, you will be financially responsible for the resources and time contributed to your item(s) by The Astleford Restoration Studio at the time of cancellation.
